Market Applications
Steviosides are widely used in a variety of foods, such as hard candies, soft candies, and cake mixes, particularly in the United States and Japan. Currently, steviosides are widely used in the production of various sweet foods in these countries, including hard candies, soft candies, chewing gum, cake mixes, and soft drinks.
Role of the Chinese Market
Since its approval as a food additive in China in 1985, steviosides have garnered widespread attention. Under the current food additive standard, GB2760-2011, food manufacturers are allowed to flexibly use steviosides. However, due to raw material cost and taste constraints, manufacturers generally avoid excessive use of steviosides, ensuring food safety and health. China is a major producer of steviosides, exporting over 80% of its production to international markets, making it a key player in the global supply chain. After decades of development and promotion, China has become the world's largest producer of steviosides, with an annual output exceeding 3,000 tons, over 80% of which is sold internationally. Developed countries such as the United States and Japan have also enjoyed the sweet taste brought by Chinese stevioside.
